The 6G Health research project demonstrates how the upcoming 6G mobile communications standard can make clinical processes more efficient, safer, and better connected. After three years of collaboration, the University of Leipzig, Charité Berlin, Vodafone, inomed Medizintechnik GmbH, and other partners have successfully completed the project.

🛜 6G is intended to help tackle the growing challenges in the healthcare sector – in particular the shortage of skilled staff. To this end, new communication and networking solutions have been developed that support patients, medical staff, and processes alike.

We have contributed our expertise in intraoperative neuromonitoring and worked on the wireless networking of medical systems in the operating theatre. The aim is to achieve reliable, cross-vendor communication in the operating theatre.
